Designate a space for you in your home dedicated to your mental and spiritual replenishing. Select a recliner, comfy chair or sofa seat to associate this meaningful time with. The more you do this, the easier it will become to get into this positive mental state the moment you put place your body there. Pick a room that supports a state of calm and quiet. If you need to, place a “quiet me time” sign on the door with a start/end time so that family members do not interrupt you. Leave your phone in another room. Support your head and be sure to place your legs on a foot rest so that you can relax. It is not advisable to meditate in your bed as you want to preserve that space for restful sleep. This time is dedicated for nurturing your mind, spirit and positive well-being.
